A bespoke service, just for you

  • Do you work for a voluntary, community, or social enterprise organisation in Plymouth?
  • Are you feeling extra stress or anxiety as a result of increased pressure recently?
  • Would you like support with your mental health but don't necessarily know where to turn?

The last 12 months have seen significant pressure on the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Plymouth to maximise support for a wide range of people in the community.

Devon Mind and Plymouth City Council are proudly working together to provide a pilot support offer that works specifically to support better mental health within the VCSE sector during these challenging times. This will include a listening service, a peer support group, and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) courses.

Listening service

The VCSE listening service provides the space and time for our dedicated VCSE staff and volunteers in Plymouth to talk openly with a qualified peer at Devon Mind about any difficulties or worries they have had and to receive advice and guidance on how to stay mentally well during such challenging times.

Appointments are 45 minutes long (via telephone or Zoom) and can be booked by clicking on a date and time slot below. You will be asked to provide some details on where you work and how you would prefer to be contacted. Once you have booked, we will be in contact soon to confirm the appointment.

Peer support group

The Plymouth VCSE peer support group gives you the opportunity to meet and chat with peers across the sector in Plymouth.

The aim of this group is to provide a forum for members of the VCSE community to come together and have a cuppa with their colleagues, who will likely be experiencing some of the same challenges as they are.
