During this time we understand it may be challenging for some families and individuals to access sufficient, affordable and nutritious food. Below are some organisations and schemes in Plymouth that are providing support.

Many of these organisations also need volunteers and donations so if you feel you can help more information is available on their websites.

If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let the organisation know.

Emergency food and support for local people who have received a valid food bank voucher.

Plymouth City Council may refer you to a food bank for crisis support, if you think you are eligible please contact the Council on 01752 668000. 

Central Plymouth

Donated food available directly. 

Foodbank for students at the college.

Crisis food provision. Our food bank is available to those that are really struggling financially e.g. have no money for food. People can call to pick up food when we are open.

We are open Monday and Thursday 9am-2pm also Friday 9am to 12 noon. (We may be able to deliver in certain circumstances).

Devonport, Stonehouse and Stoke community support.

We work with food producers and supermarkets to redistribute surplus food to those in need. We supply several services, community organisations and groups. Through their various means testing schemes produce is distributed to those that have been identified as being in desperate need to feed themselves and their families.

Direct food parcel supplies and signposting.

Feeding the unfortunate, lost, lonely, hungry, rough sleepers and homeless.

Community food bank.

We are a registered charity supporting local families every Thursday morning between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm. Collection is based on household numbers, and you can an attend weekly/ bi-weekly. This is a free service but is subject to demand and may change over time.

The public donates non-perishable, in-date food at a range of places, such as schools, churches, and businesses, as well as supermarket collection points. It is then sorted into emergency food parcels by more than 28,000 volunteers, to be given to people in crisis.

Crisis food provision and free food aid provision for the Greenbank community.

Order a two course lunch that will be delivered to your door. For an additional cost, you can also purchase a tea time sandwich/ salad and a slice of cake. Meals can be provided seven days a week or just for a couple of days.

We provide food and hot drinks for the homeless and vulnerable every Sunday evening.

Plymouth Soup Run delivers food and hot drinks to the homeless and vulnerable at the following stops 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

We are offering a collection only service to our referral agents. Our crisis pack contents may vary depending on the donations have been received.

Community food support. Community fridge for all to use - take what you need and share what you can to help reduce food waste in Plymouth! Keep an eye on our page for opening hours and let us know if you'd like to help with keeping the fridge going!

We can help with food parcels, which contain non perishable foods and will support anyone that is in need. 

The food hub is open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 12 noon, but you must call before arrival to arrange your collection.

The Bigger Table operates from the Mutley Baptist Church.

We can help with food packages, financial advice and general support. Pop in on Monday or Thursday between 12 noon and 2pm. 

Our Mission is to build on existing community spirit, working with local people to bring a bit more colour into all our lives. We work on the frontline providing opportunities that enable anyone in our community to connect through learning, signposting, cultural activities and having fun in a safe and caring environment.

We are based in the centre of Morice Town and endeavour to help without judgement, anyone who requires it with things such as emergency food parcels, clothing, etc. We can help people in the Devonport, Morice Town, Stoke, Keyham and surrounding areas.

Transforming Plymouth Together works with churches and charities such as the Provide Devon, Plymouth Foodbank, Plymouth Soup Run and Shekinah Mission and supports projects such as The Diocese of Exeter's Family Fun Cooking Club to help address poverty in our communities. From organising Holiday Clubs for families whose children receive free school meals, to providing expertise, help and advice to groups setting up food banks and local initiatives to teach people how to cook healthily on a budget.

We are a Soup Kitchen on union corner. We offer fresh soup, sandwiches, pasties, biscuits, hot and cold beverages. Free or small donation to all members of the community.
