Learn CPR to help save a life
Do you know how to restart someone's heart?
Many of us will witness a cardiac arrest in our lifetime. Be ready for that day with the British Heart Foundation's RevivR, a fast, free, and easy-to-use online training course.
What is RevivR?
RevivR is a free, interactive, online CPR training course. In just 15 minutes, you can learn how to save a life and receive your very own CPR certificate. It couldn't be simpler - you just need your mobile phone or tablet and a cushion to practice on. Start the training now or save it for later and get it sent straight to your inbox, ready when you are.
What is CPR?
CPR is an emergency lifesaving procedure, performed when the heart stops beating. Each year, over 30,000 people have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK, with less than one in ten surviving. Giving CPR and using a defibrillator can more than double someone's chance of survival.
How to access the free online training
The training can be accessed on the British Heart Foundation's website and all you need is a cushion, your mobile phone, and 15 minutes. That's it. Nothing more.
What you'll learn
- Learn how to recognise a cardiac arrest and what to do in an emergency situation
- Understand when you should call 999 and what to expect with a simulated practice call
- RevivR gives you feedback on your CPR technique and will help you perfect it while you practice
- How to use a defibrillator and where you can find your nearest one
Defibrillators
If someone is experiencing cardiac arrest, the quick use of a defibrillator in an easy-to-reach place can also be the lifeline that keeps them with us.
The Circuit has a partner site, Defib Finder, where you can check the closest defibrillators to you and see if yours is already registered. However, this website should not be used during an emergency. When someone collapses and stops breathing normally, it is important to quickly call 999, begin CPR, and use a defibrillator if one is available.
