Devon and Cornwall Food Action (DCFA)
Devon and Cornwall Food Action (DCFA) works closely with food producers and supermarkets to redirect surplus food to those in need, preventing perfectly good food from ending up in landfill. We are not a food bank.

By teaming up with local organisations, we ensure that food reaches individuals and families who need assistance the most.
We provide essential food and toiletry items directly to individuals and families facing hardship from our Plymouth Hub or at pop-ups. No referral is needed, but pre-order is required.
If you're in need, don't struggle alone; reach out to us and find out how we can assist you.
How the scheme works
For a set charge (presently £25), we supply essential food and toiletry items worth several times that amount to individuals and families in need.
Here's a glimpse of what you can expect in a typical package:
- Fresh Fruit and Vegetables: Nutritious and healthy options.
- Cupboard Staples: Essential store cupboard items for daily meals such as pasta or rice, bread, a selection of tins, jars of sauces, packets of cereal, tea or coffee, and some treats like crisps or cakes.
- Frozen Food: Convenient and nourishing selections.
- Toiletries: Basic household items and hygiene products for personal care.
All items, plus pet food, are subject to availability.
By using our service, you're not only helping yourself or your family but also contributing to a sustainable cause by saving surplus food from being wasted. Together, we can make a difference—one meal at a time.
