Plymouth service is on hand to provide free, specialist housing advice for people living in the local area. Within our centre on Buckwell Street we have solicitors and trained housing advisers available, able to assist clients who are eligible for advice under Legal Aid rules; but also offer a service to those who are not eligible for Legal Aid.
We run a court desk service on possession hearing days at the Plymouth and Torquay/Newton Abbot County Courts.
Issues we can deal with
- homelessness, or worried you'll soon become homeless
- looking for accommodation
- having problems with your landlord
- being evicted or repossessed
- debt problems
- benefits issues
- problems with disrepair
- need help going to court regarding your housing
Even if your problem isn't listed above we may still be able to help - just give us a call to discuss.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help.

Our building can easily be accessed by people in wheelchairs and our toilets have been fully adapted. We have a loop system and occasional access to signers.
