Domiciliary care

Domiciliary care is provided to people who still live in their own homes but require additional support with activities, including household tasks, personal care, and any other activity that allows them to maintain both their independence and quality of life.

Devoncare offers a full range of services, including periodic visits to help with shopping, walks in the park, companionship, domestic chores, and 24-hour full-time care.

Our team of highly qualified, experienced, and friendly staff is ready to attend to your every need, which includes:

• Companionship
• Light housework
• Helping at bed time
• Shopping
• Personal and continence care
• Managing medication
• Assisting clients move around the house
• Helping with household tasks and meal preparation
• Clinical care, including catheter and stoma management
• PEG feeding

Live in care

Having a live-in carer allows you to stay in your own home and lead as normal a life as possible. Live-in carer duties vary and can include some domestic work, such as light cleaning, helping with or preparing food, assisting the client with bathing, and dressing. They may also accompany the client on shopping trips, walks, etc.

Carers are often trained to deal with specialist conditions such as dementia, Parkinson, palliative care, stroke, end-of-life, and MS. 

Live-in carers work very closely with both the client and their families to ensure the right level of care is provided. Carers act almost like a member of the family, often building strong relationships with them. A carer also offers companionship, which is often overlooked but is a very important part of the job, as is building trust with family members.

There is no set reason or age for a person to require personal care. We at Devoncare can provide the type of personal care that you need. This could be a short-term requirement or an ongoing requirement. Either way, Devoncare will be able to satisfy your needs. All our care packages are tailored to individual client needs and requirements. We offer care on an hourly, daily, or on-going basis. Care can be provided by a provided by a specialist  or by assisting with routine daily matters.

Palliative care

Palliative care, sometimes called "supportive care," is ongoing care for someone with a terminal illness and their family. The aim is to ensure the person enjoys as fulfilling a quality of life as possible, given their circumstances. This could include, but is not limited to:

• Personal care
• Helping with the preparation of meals, light cleaning
• helping with washing and dressing
• Providing psychological and emotional support
• Help with medication
• Support for your family and friends

Devoncare's highly experienced team will conduct an assessment in conjunction with the client, their family, and relevant professionals, such as doctors, with knowledge of the client's history to better understand their needs. We will then agree on a care plan. The team responsible for looking after the client would then be introduced to the client and family. We place great emphasis on compatibility; therefore, we never impose a carer on a client. 

End-of-life care

End-of-life care is similar in many ways to palliative care. The main difference is that this is providing support, care, and treatment for people nearing the end of life. We aim to provide help, assistance, and support to both the client and there family to ensure the client's needs are met and family and friends know what to expect and are prepared. We can also get involved in directing the family to other support agencies, such as available financial support.
