We provide a range of services, including individual therapeutic support, consultation and advice for schools, supervision, neurodivergent workshops, and team training.

Working from a neuro-affirming approach, we offer bespoke individual support sessions to people of all ages.

Children and young people

At This Is Me Psychology, we recognise the importance of helping children and young people to understand their neurodivergent identity. All too often parents are given support, but there is very little for the young person themselves.

We believe it is crucial that young people have an opportunity to explore their diagnosis. Gaining a better understanding of their unique strengths and learning strategies to cope effectively will help to boost their self-esteem and maximise their future potential.

Adults

Many people are not given any post-diagnostic support following their diagnosis. We can offer bespoke support to help you gain a better understanding of what it means to be autistic and suggest strategies to manage this more effectively.

These sessions may include developing a positive Autistic identity, boosting your self-esteem, managing transitions, managing mental wellbeing, thinking about ways to manage social interactions and sensory concerns, as well as exploring any reasonable adjustments that may help you at work.

Parents and guardians

We understand that for some parents, it may be hard to adjust to having a neurodivergent child. We are here to support you in making that transition easier.

We can help you gain a better understanding of your child's identity and suggest effective strategies you can use to support them to thrive across all ages.

This may be support to manage transitions, strategies to improve emotional regulation, or ways to support sensory overload.

Spouses and partners

Having one partner who is neurodivergent while the other is neurotypical can make relationships challenging to navigate at times. It may mean that you have to work harder to communicate your feelings to each other and to find a shared understanding.

We can offer spouses a space to explore these differences and start to bridge the gap between neurodivergent and neurotypical perspectives to help strengthen your relationship.

Siblings

While there can be a lot of benefits to having a neurodivergent sibling, it can also be difficult at times too. Without support, having different perspectives, or managing sensory overload can adversely affect sibling relationships.

This Is Me Psychology is here to give siblings space to talk about and validate their feelings. We provide age-appropriate information about neurodiversity and allow siblings time to ask questions in order to help foster understanding, empathy, and acceptance. We provide the tools and resources needed to build stronger sibling relationships.
