Befriending

Befrienders are usually volunteers who are trained to provide support and companionship to lonely, or emotionally distressed, people.
Befriending usually lasts for a few hours each and can take place in your home or other location. Some schemes can help with social events, creative classes, or self-help groups.

Elder Tree Befriending
Elder Tree Befriending is a local charity. We work in close partnership with Plymouth City Council and Livewell South West and our main aim is to prevent loneliness and support socially isolated and vulnerable older people to continue to live independently in their own homes.

Face 2 Face Befriending Service
All parents discovering their children has a special need or disability should have access to emotional support. Face 2 Face is a service for, and delivered by, parents of children with a special need or disability.

Ivybridge Caring Volunteers
Ivybridge Caring's aim is to provide free services such as regular home visits offering support and companionship, help shopping or going out, and some Carer relief.
