Our groups

Early days

A drop-in play session for babies 0-6 months with children's centre staff available for advice and support. We are here to support you and your new baby with the first few months of parenthood, offering opportunities to connect with other new parents in a small, friendly space

Baby group

A drop-in play group for babies before they start to walk. In this group, you will gain opportunities to explore various sensory resources and activities while you enjoy making memories with your little ones in a friendly environment, giving you a chance to connect with new parents as you journey through new experiences with your babies.

Stay and Play

A group session for children aged 0-5 years to come along and enjoy getting involved with a range of activities, supporting children to progress on their development in all areas. This gives children the opportunity to engage with peers and build on their confidence, while also giving parents and carers the chance to chat and socialise with other families.

Transition to school

This group is for your little ones who are beginning their next chapter with school. Join us as we team up with the soap box theatre, providing activities designed to build up their confidence and help them learn new skills to support their transition to school.

Step by Step

A drop-in group for children with additional needs.

Breastfeeding

We are breastfeeding-friendly in all areas of our children's centres, and in addition to this, we have allocated comfy spaces for those wishing to breastfeed privately.

We run Latch On groups at both of our centres with a dedicated Latch On peer supporter and trained staff members.

Action for Children is currently facilitating regular antenatal sessions for dads and male carers; these run bimonthly and can be booked via Eventbrite. All sessions are free, and refreshments are provided.

Action for Children also runs monthly Saturday sessions for dads, male carers, and their little ones. We offer a variety of play opportunities, arts and crafts, and messy play. All of our sessions are free; please check our current timetable or Facebook. For more information about either of these sessions, please email greenarkcc@actionforchildren.org.uk.
