Access Plymouth is a local charity that exists to help Plymouth residents and visitors with their mobility needs. Housed in purpose-built premises in Mayflower East Car Park, we provide scooters, wheelchairs, and powerchairs for hire and sale.

For travel, we have door-to-door minibuses with wheelchair access and a car service using volunteer drivers to take you around Plymouth.

How we can help you

Shopmobility

We are part of the national Shopmobility scheme, renting out scooters and wheelchairs to use around Plymouth City Centre.

The service is available to residents and visitors to Plymouth, regardless of whether their disability is permanent or temporary.

Dial-A-Ride

Dial-A-Ride is a door-to-door transport service for elderly and disabled residents anywhere within Plymouth.

The service is available to Plymouth residents who are eligible for a concessionary bus pass but struggle to access the bus service. This may be due to the distance they operate from your home, physical difficulties in boarding the bus, or simply not having a bus to where you want to go.

Community Car

Community Car is a not-for-profit car-sharing scheme to help people with mobility problems get around Plymouth.

Volunteer drivers, using their own vehicles, can take you to the shops, hairdressers, doctors, dentists, lunch clubs, day centres, hospital visits, or practically anywhere else you need to go in Plymouth.
