Who is Wizzybug designed for?

Wizzybug is designed for physically disabled children. This includes children living with cerebral palsy, spinal muscular atrophy, spina bifida or muscular dystrophy, as well as children with amputations or other conditions that affect their ability to walk.

Wizzybug is intended for pre-school children of minimum age 14 months and a maximum weight of 20 kg.

How can Wizzybug be used?

Wizzybug is an electrically powered wheelchair for indoor and outdoor use, with adult supervision.
Children use Wizzybugs at home and at pre-school, and in outdoor spaces such as parks, gardens and playgrounds.

Wizzybug can be used every day or just occasionally, but is not intended to be used all day, every day.

Joseph's story

Joseph has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) which affects his ability to walk. When his parents first received the news, they were devastated - what would the future hold for their little boy?

His Wizzybug has given him his freedom, his independence and the opportunity to be a playful 3 year old.

This is his story.

If you need assistance with the cost of travelling to our centre in Bath for your Wizzybug appointment you can apply for help via our Access Fund.

Once you have your Wizzybug you can keep it until your child no longer needs it (usually because they outgrow it) and it can then be returned to us so that we can refurbish it ready for another family to enjoy.
