All of our bedrooms across the spacious one-level home have great views across Crownhill; they are light, comfortable, and well furnished.

The popular area of Crownhill is close to the city centre and Plymouth Hoe! With local amenities close by as well as the enclosed garden, Valley View is the ideal 'home from home'.

About

At Valley View, we pride ourselves on how passionate we are about our residents care and are constantly working to improve the lives of residents living with us and their families. Valley View has a wonderful, homey feel. Having recently undergone a complete refurbishment with excellent furnishings, the home is light, airy, and welcoming to all.

Professional and Highly Trained Staff

The Home has a highly dedicated team of friendly and professional carers, caterers, and household staff, all of whom are trained in their specialties. Specialist training is given on end-of-life care, dementia, first aid, and moving and handling, as well as regular mandatory training provided by a highly qualified trainer and registered nurse, ensuring compliance and competence to the highest standards.

The Home is led by Debbie King, who has worked in care for the elderly for over 16 years. She is supported by her deputy manager and a team of senior carers and care assistants. Debbie and her team are further supported by Area Manager Julian Webb, who is responsible for the operational and care aspects of the home, and our Group Clinical Care Lead Amanda, who is responsible for the clinical aspects of Valley View. Both of which are supported fully by the director, Rebecca Marks, who frequently visits the home.

Valley View works very closely with the resident's families, GPs, the district nursing team, social workers, chiropractors, dentists, opticians, physiotherapists, and all other professionals involved in the residents care.

Quality of Life

Social interaction and entertainment are highly valued at Valley View and range from lively bingo games to flower arranging, music and singalongs to cake and cookie decorating, quizzes and games to jigsaw puzzles, arts and crafts to outings—there is always something going on. FaceTime is also available for everyone alongside visits, so contact with loved ones is always possible.

The home has a large communal dining and living area where our residents can enjoy a sing-along, keep fit, or some quiet time with the help of our volunteers and activities coordinator. Valley View has a lovely enclosed garden that is south-facing with a patio for some fresh air or a spot of gardening.

Many of our residents are from differing backgrounds; therefore, a full life history profile is carried out prior to admission, which enables us to apply a person-centred approach as well as be able to share and enjoy their many life experiences. We see Valley View as being synonymous with excellent care and support, never losing sight of the fact of the fact that our residents are at the centre of all that we do.
