Plym Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit - Livewell Southwest

The Plym Neuro Rehab Unit is a 15 bedded inpatient neurological rehabilitation unit for adults aged 16 years and over.

Our client group includes those who have suffered an acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions.

Our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) consists of Consultant, Speciality Doctor, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Neuropsychologists and Social Workers. We also receive additional support from external agencies such as Dieticians, Pharmacists, Orthotists, Continence Service, Spinal Injuries Association and Headway.

During your stay you will be initially assessed by the appropriate members of the MDT and a rehabilitation programme will be developed with goals set with you and the team to work towards within a specific time frame.

Once these goals have been achieved you will be discharged and, if required, a referral will be made to external agencies to continue your rehabilitation in the community.

During your stay meetings will be arranged to discuss your progress, adjust your goals and plan your discharge.

A referral is required to access this service. 

As a Level 2a Specialist Rehabilitation Service, the Plym Neuro-Rehab Unit welcomes referral for patients from Devon and Cornwall with complex specialist neurological rehabilitation needs. You are welcome to contact us by email or telephone to discuss any cases you would like to refer to us.
