Swimming and Water-Based Sessions
Swim for free at Plympton Swimming Pool, Mount Wise Outdoor Swimming Pool, or Tinside Lido!
Do you like the idea of swimming but are a bit worried about not having good enough skills?
This session is a great opportunity to have fun and build up your swimming skills and confidence, too.
Sessions include opportunities to participate in SCUBA, swim safe, swim for confidence lessons, aquafit, water polo, and more.

Plympton Swimming Pool
Want to have Plympton Pool for yourself and your friends?
Come to one of our Youth Night sessions and enjoy free swimming, no matter the weather, and practice your swimming skills.
Want to get fit for free? Come and use Plympton Pool's gym for free on Fridays and get your sweat on!
Dates and times
- Each Tuesday, from 3.30 pm to 4 pm (young people 11 to 18 years old), swim confidence lessons.
- Each Wednesday, from 12 noon to 1 pm (young people 16 to 18 years old, or 25 if the young person has SEND), swim confidence lessons.
- Each Friday, from 4 pm to 6 pm (Friday gym night) and from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm (youth activities night).
Who can attend?
These sessions are open to all young people aged between 11 and 18 years old (or 25 if you have special educational needs or a disability).

How to register and attend these sessions
The simplest way to register for these sessions is to book online. Either scan the QR code or visit the Plymouth Active website.

This session takes place at Plympton Swimming Pool, Harewood Park, Plympton, Plymouth, PL7 2AS.
Tinside Lido and Mount Wise Outdoor Swimming Pools
Want to have Tinside Lido or Mount Wise for yourself and your friends?
Come to one of our Youth Night sessions and enjoy free swimming, splash around in the sunshine, and practice your swimming skills.
Alternatively, the Activity Night sessions allow you to take part in cool activities such as scuba diving, aquafit, or water polo.
Dates and times
- Each Monday, from 5 pm to 6 pm and 6 pm to 7 pm at the Tinside Lido (Activity Group)
- Each Tuesday, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm at the Tinside Lido (Youth Night)
- Each Wednesday, from 6.30 to 7.30 pm at the Mount Wise Outdoor Swimming Pool
- Each Thursday, from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Mount Wise Outdoor Swimming Pool (Youth Night)
