Plymouth Area Cancer Support Network (PACS)

By working together we are trying to ensure that all groups provide such care, assistance, and guidance as may be needed and welcomed by cancer patients, their families and friends.

We share information, experiences and training, offer joint social and other events so that each group is as good as it can be.

The Network also acts as a united voice in communicating the experiences of cancer patients to the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and other organisations.

Support groups

Living with cancer can be isolating, but joining a group of people who've faced similar experiences can help. These groups offer social and emotional support, organize social events, and invite speakers. Sharing your own stories and listening to others who've been through cancer can make you feel less alone. Research confirms that support groups assist individuals in coping with cancer, its treatment, and living well afterwards. You're not alone in this journey and connecting with others who understand can make a significant difference.

Just Cancer Support Group

Bladder and Kidney Cancer

Bowel Cancer

The Plymouth and District Bowel Cancer Support Group meets once a month at the Invicta Hotel on the Hoe, Plymouth. For more information, please email admin@plymdistbcsg.com

Brain Tumour

Brain Tumour Support Devon, Cornwall & Plymouth has monthly brain tumour support groups that take place in Plymouth on the last Friday of the month. Home visits are available by request. The service is available to both the patient and family members who are also affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. For more information, please call 01454 422701.

Breast Cancer

The BRCA Gene

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia

Gynaecological Cancers

The Gynae Girls is a social group for women affected by any form of gynaecological cancer (cervical, ovarian, etc.). We meet on the last Monday of each month at The Invicta Hotel, 11-12 Osbourne Place PL21 2PU. For more information, please email gynaegirlscsg.plymouth@gmail.com.

Lung Cancer

The British Lung Foundation - Breathe Easy Support Group is a support group for anyone affected by a lung cancer diagnosis. They meet at Tothill Community Centre, Knightion Road, St Judes, Plymouth, PL4 9DA. For more information, please email cpc1323@gmail.com.

Lymphoma -Hodgkins and Non-Hodgkins Disease

The Plymouth Lymphoma Support Group meets for clinical and social talks with a bit of social time, friendship and a listening ear. They meet at the Derriford Centre for Health and Wellbeing. For more information, please email contact@plymouthcancersupport.com

Male Cancers

Dashnet supports all men diagnosed with cancer. The group meets at The Brook Inn, Plympton We believe that nobody should ever have to wake up to the news that they have cancer and also that nobody should ever have to go through it alone.
