Down's Syndrome - Plymouth and Area Support Group

Down's syndrome is caused by the presence of an extra chromosome in a baby's cells. In the majority of cases, Down's syndrome is not an inherited condition. Down's syndrome usually occurs because of a chance happening at the time of conception.

Children and adults with Down's syndrome are all unique individuals with their own personalities, family backgrounds and preferences that make them who they are.

We are a friendly support group covering Plymouth and the surrounding area.

The group has been operational for well over 20 years now and was originally formed by parents and carers who had a family member with Down's syndrome. We also welcome any members with a professional interest or community link.

Our aim is to provide thoughtful and understanding support, share useful and relevant information, celebrate achievement and success, have fun together and build friendships.

Please don't hesitate to contact us. We can be there for you however and whenever you need us.
