Hooe Primary Academy

Hooe Primary has been educating children on our current school site since 1926. Much has changed in education in that time but the principles that guide our work as a school have remained the same.

Our primary aim is to encourage all our pupils to be confident, inquiring, tolerant, and positive individuals who have respect for the differences of others.

We believe that our pupils should clearly understand their responsibility for their own learning so that they value their education and the opportunities, excitement, and joy that learning provides. In return, we offer an excellent team of staff who work incredibly hard to provide a broad range of opportunities and experiences within a safe, stimulating, and friendly learning environment.

We greatly value and actively promote the partnership between home and school because we understand that it is only through joint support that every child will reach their full potential. We hope that the years spent with us will be happy ones for your child.

We believe that Hooe Primary offers a distinctive and special educational experience, which we are very proud of. We hope that further investigation of our website will reflect this, but we also know that this is best experienced firsthand. We strongly encourage parents and prospective pupils to visit us during the school day so you can see us in action and meet our fantastic pupils.

At Hooe Primary Academy we believe that all pupils who attend our school have access to a broad and balanced curriculum suitably differentiated to meet individual needs.

We seek to promote effective learning for all children in order that they make progress, realise potential and develop a sense of self-worth.

It is our belief that the views of the child should be sought and taken into account and that parents have a vital role to play in supporting their child's education.

Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
