Plymbridge House

A beautiful care home near Plymouth that specialises in dementia care, Plymbridge House is an impressive building with beautiful, award-winning grounds.

Located in an attractive residential area of the village of Plympton, local shops are within walking distance, and there is easy access to Plymouth. 

As a former vicarage, we have carried out several improvements over the years to create a beautiful, spacious home.

Registered to accommodate 40 people, our care home supports individuals living with dementia to live a full and interesting life in a safe environment. 

Life at Plymbridge House

There is plenty of space at Plymbridge, with several communal rooms to choose from, depending on what you want to do. The quiet lounge is perfect for reading a book or doing a puzzle, while the television lounge is often used for our organised activities, such as our popular quizzes or discussion groups. The conservatory has lots of lovely light, making it ideal for pastimes such as painting and knitting, as well as being a great space for welcoming entertainers and other visitors. 

Our large dining room allows for sociable mealtimes, with the opportunity to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in a relaxing environment. 

A varied activities programme 

Our activity coordinators ensure there is always a lot to do. A busy programme offers something for everybody, including arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, and more. We particularly love music and have regular afternoons with visiting musicians, which often result in everybody singing along. We also incorporate music into our exercise mornings, which can be lively with old songs to move around to. 

Dementia care at Plymbridge

All our staff receive comprehensive dementia care training, with an emphasis on supporting people as individuals, recognising emotional needs, and learning how to communicate well.

Our bedrooms 

Many of our private bedrooms have an ensuite WC and hand basin, while our communal bathrooms offer a choice of bathing facilities with state-of-the-art specialist baths and showers.

Award-winning gardens

We are very lucky to have extensive grounds with lawns and mature trees and shrubs. A seated area at the back of the home, surrounded by flowers, makes a wonderful spot to while away a sunny afternoon. We also have a large patio area where you can enjoy dinner, help with some gardening, or simply sit outdoors.

We are proud to have won many Plymouth in Bloom awards over the years.
