Trying to make the right decision about your loved one's care can be a stressful and uncertain time. That is why at Abing Homecare, we aim to take the stress away and help you make the right decision to meet you and your loved one's needs.

Live-in Care

It can be hard to watch your loved ones in need of increasing support. You might assume that you have no choice but to move them into a residential care home, which could be distressing for everyone involved. However, moving your loved one into a care home is not the only option. With live-in care, a dedicated carer will live in the home with your loved one to provide round-the-clock support.

What can you expect from a live-in carer?

A live-in carer will live full-time in your loved one's home with them and be there to support them 24/7. We will work with you to find a carer who suits your loved one's needs and personality, in order to make sure they are the perfect match. Your carer will be chosen specifically to support your loved one's specific medical and emotional needs.

As well as 24-hour care, your live-in care will be able to assist with the following:

  • Administer Medication
A live-in carer will ensure that medication is administered in the right quantities at the right times.
  • Help out with household chores
Keeping the house in order can be hard when you get older; a live-in carer can help out with the cleaning or
    washing up.
  • Arrange outings and visits from friends and family
Arrange outings and visits any day of the week, and a carer will be there to support you throughout.
  • Preparing meals
Never miss a mealtime. Your carer can help out with preparing meals, taking any dietary requirements into account.
  • Physical and Emotional Support
Having a familiar face provide live-in care offers not only practical support but emotional support and companionship too.

Domiciliary Care

Domiciliary care allows you or your loved one to receive ongoing support from the comfort of their own home. Domiciliary care is also widely known as care at home. With domiciliary care, a carer will visit your home for 1 hour a week, up to day-long visits.

Domiciliary care is for anyone who could do with the support at home but not full-time. Our carers will come in and help you with any tasks you need. This can include helping you get dressed in the morning or assisting you with preparing and cooking meals and tidying up afterwards.

What can you expect from domiciliary care?

  • Regular visits to suit your loved one's needs, from 30 minutes a week to an overnight stay. Our domiciliary care plans can be arranged to suit your needs.
  • Personal assistance with getting up, washing, and getting ready for the day.
  • If your loved one struggles at mealtimes or needs extra help with the chores, we can provide assistance with cooking meals or cleaning the house.
  • Company and companionship: schedule regular visits from a carer to help with visiting friends or relatives.
