Child Development Centre

The Child Development Centre (CDC) at Derriford Hospital is an assessment centre which provides both initial outpatient assessment and continuing treatment and support for children.

Children's Speech and Language Service - Livewell Southwest

Our friendly Speech and Language Team is experienced in helping children aged 0-18 who have difficulty speaking clearly, expressing themselves, communicating socially, understanding others, talking fluently, or feeding and swallowing.

Healthy Start

With Healthy Start, you get free vouchers every week to spend on milk, plain fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, and infant formula milk. You can also get free vitamins.

Livewell Southwest - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

Livewell Southwest's CAMHS has multidisciplinary teams that offer a high quality service to all children and young people between the ages of 5 - 18 who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

Looked After Child and Youth Offending Team - Livewell Southwest

The CAMHS Looked After Children team is for children and young people aged 0 - 19 years who are looked after by the Plymouth City Council.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Derriford Hospital

The Neonatal Service includes the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Transitional Care Ward (TCW). The NICU provides tertiary / specialist medical intensive care treatment for extremely preterm and sick newborn babies.

Public Health Nursing - School Nursing - Livewell Southwest

The School Nursing Service delivers the Universal Healthy Child Programme 5 - 19 citywide to improve health outcomes for the school aged population.

Step Up Speech and Language

Step Up Speech and Language helps children who may have attention and listening problems, unclear speech, difficulty understanding others or talking in full sentences, as well as issues making and maintaining friendships. We assess and support children when there are concerns regarding stammering, selective mutism, and autism.
