OutYouth is a youth group for young people aged between 11 and 19 years old (up to age 25 for young people with special educational needs) who present as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ).

OutYouth offers the young LGBTQ community a youth space to meet up and express themselves freely without judgement, have fun, and relax.

Built on inclusivity, respect, and kindness, we encourage young people to build healthy trusting and supporting relationships while enjoying the college facilities such as pool, table tennis, and gaming, as well as a rotation of activities tailored to the interests and needs of young people, such as badge making, art and craft activities, and workshops tackling issues like bullying and body image.

Qualified youth workers can offer advice and guidance. We aim to help young people make informed choices by ensuring they access the information they need, when they need it, in ways they understand.

Dates and times

Each Tuesday, from 5.30 pm to 7 pm (young people 11 to 15 years old) and from 7 pm to 8 pm (young people 15 to 19 years old or 19 to 25 for young people with SEND).

These sessions take place at City College.

We do offer some flexibility with the age range depending on the young person's needs, peer group, etc.

During the school holidays, we merge the two groups and open from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 pm.

Who can attend?

These sessions are open to all young people aged between 11 and 19 years old (or 25 if you have special educational needs or a disability).

Please email outyouth@plymouth.gov.uk or call 07774 336 616 to join these sessions.

Please do not attend the OutYouth Group without contacting the OutYouth Team first.
