We will achieve these things by delivering a challenging and academic curriculum in a culture of aspiration and the highest of expectations. For us, there are no excuses accepted for failure.
We are proud to be different here at the Marine Academy. Our belief, first and foremost, is that excellent qualifications and the option to access university are the two most important indicators of student success. This is not at the cost of happiness and wellbeing. Quite simply, we want to produce the next generation of leaders and have more students go on to Russell Group universities than any other school in the country.
We are proud to champion traditional academic subjects and expect politeness and the highest levels of discipline from our students. We believe that the ability to speak another language and play a musical instrument is vitally important.
At Marine Academy, our aim is to give every student the kind of education that is comparable to the highest-performing private schools in the country. Discipline, leadership, resilience, and aspiration are our core pillars that run through everything we do. Our new curriculum is highly academic, where children will study at least three lessons of languages every week, along with the opportunity to study subjects such as economics, classics, politics, psychology, and Latin. Sporting excellence, music mastery, art, and drama are areas in which our students will excel and will be provided with curriculum time and opportunities to develop their skills and passion.

At Marine Academy we truly believe that every young person should have equal access to education. As a school we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure that the best possible progress is made for all of our students whatever their needs or abilities. We do our utmost to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring all students' needs are met within the classroom with high quality differentiated and personalised teaching.
The school works hard to ensure that students are accurately identified and that any barriers to student accessing their learning are addressed. The school works as a close knit community to facilitate support, both long term and short term, for a wide range of individual student needs.
Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
