Situated on the outskirts of Plymouth, close to the River Tamar, our dedicated staff work hard to provide a positive and stimulating place to learn, giving our children inspiring learning opportunities that enable them to thrive both academically and in their personal development, leaving our school with strength of character and the tools they need to reach their goals and become valued members of society.

The life of the school is driven by enthusiasm, ambition, and determination while being mindful of our Christian values of love, forgiveness, respect, and joy.

We believe a positive partnership between home and school is essential. Building strong relationships with parents and the community is of great importance. Working together to help the children be the best they can be. You are your child's first educator, and we aim to build on their skills and experiences when they join us. We hope you continue to take an active and positive interest in what your child is doing at school. There are many ways for you to get involved in school life, for example, through our Friends of St. Budeaux or as a helper in school.

Our Nursery

Based within our Foundation Stage Unit (FSU), our nursery children work alongside reception to experience a progressive curriculum covering all aspects of EYFS.

We accept children into our nursery class as soon as they turn 2, although early-year entitlement funding will begin the term after their third birthday.

The classroom is divided into dedicated areas to allow free flow play in all the areas of learning, including a role-play corner, numeracy area, messy play area, book corner, etc.  The children also have access to a safe and secure outdoor play space with multiple learning areas.

We welcome visits from parents or carers to our school; please contact the school office to make an appointment.

At St Budeaux Foundation School we aim to identify every child's needs as they arise and provide teaching and learning that will enable all individuals to achieve their full potential.

Where necessary, we work with a range of professionals such as Speech & Language Therapists or Educational Psychologists to ensure we are matching our provision to the needs of the child.

Support may be given in school by both the teacher and a teaching assistant and it is very important that we work with the family too.

Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
