We are a happy and thriving school in the heart of the Devonport area of Plymouth. We strive to inspire every child to achieve in a caring and safe environment.
Our mission is to nurture children with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding, and compassion for others, and encourage them to lead aspirational, fulfilling lives, developing the skills to become independent, self-sufficient adults who will succeed and contribute responsibly in a global community.
We stress the total development of each child—intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, moral, and physical—in a welcome, secure, and stimulating learning environment.
All aspects of the school's organisation are designed to accommodate individual learning styles so that all may experience success.
At Marlborough, we value:
- People: pupils, parents and staff
- Community and Stakeholders
- Diversity and Equality

As a member of the South West Plymouth Educational Trust, our schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.
All schools are supported, to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.
At Marlborough Primary School, we embrace the fact that every child is different, and therefore, the educational needs of every child are different, this is certainly the case for children with Special Educational Needs.
Plymouth uses an orange 'Local Offer icon' to show services that define themselves as suitable for children and young people with SEND. These are part of Plymouth's SEND Local Offer. We recommend that you contact the service provider to make sure the service is suitable for your child or young person.
