Coram Voice

Coram Voice will help you if you are in care, leaving care, have or need a social worker.

Contacts details

Address:Coram Life Education
41 Brunswick Square
WC1N 1AZ
Telephone number: 0808 800 5792

We will get your voice heard, tell you about your rights, give you the support you need through our advocates, and work with you to improve the care system.

Coram Voice is a leading children's rights organisation. We champion the rights of children. We get young voices heard in decisions that matter to them and work to improve the lives of children in care, care leavers, and others who depend upon the help of the state.

We do this because we believe in a society that recognises and willingly accepts its responsibilities to children and young people, where the inequalities and discrimination they currently face have been eradicated, where they are fully engaged in all decisions made about their lives, and where their views, needs, and feelings are at the core of those decisions.

How we can help you

  • Get help: Find out all about advocates and how they can help you.
  • My rights: All you need to know about your rights and who can help you.
  • Get involved: A National Voice is the 'National Children in Care Council' for children in care and care leavers
  • Hi! I'm AdvoCat: AdvoCat is here to help you get your voice heard loud and clear.

Befriend a child or young person in care

Coram Voice is looking for volunteers to become Independent Visitors, befriending children and young people who are in care. Often, a young person in care will not have consistent adult support who is independent from the local authority. Independent Visitors spend time with a young person once a month, they become a good, stable, adult role model for the young person, inspiring them towards better and brighter things.

  • Full induction training and ongoing support/training will be provided
  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • Must not be an elected member of the council, or the partner of one.
  • Must not work for Children's Services within the Local Authority

Please contact Paisley.Elliott@Coramvoice.org.uk for more information.
